News: FHS One-Act Play advances to State contest

            The Friendswood High School One-Act Play, Gunfighter: A Gulf War Chronicle is advancing to State after a successful regional competition at Atascocita High School in Humble.
            State contest will be held at the University of Texas at Austin in Bass Concert Hall on Friday May 7 at 4 pm.
            This is the 100th anniversary of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) who manages and oversees high school sports and academic contests.

            At regional competition, FHS One-Act cast members won several medals.
            The UIL’s commemorative bronze medal for Honorable Mention All Star Cast was given to Michelle Wallace for the role of Erin Seidaman in Gunfighter: A Gulf War Chronicle.
            The UIL's Commemorative bronze medal for Honorable Mention All-Star Cast was given to Chris Hailey for the role of Col. Patterson.
            The UIL's Commemorative bronze medal for All-Star Cast was presented to Mason Conrad for the role of Warrant Officer Lash Larue.
            The UIL's Commemorative bronze medal for All-Star Cast was given to Chase Harris for the role of Lt. Colonel Jack Hackett.
            Also advancing to State competition with Friendswood is Barber's Hill High School. Dawson High School in Pearland is alternate to State.
            Since 1993, FHS has advanced to state competition for 13 consecutive years with four years being named One-Act Play State Champions.
