The Theatre Under The Stars Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers in the greater Houston metropolitan area.
Out of seven years of the competition, FHS has been nominated six times for Best Musical. Each year the FHS casts have been nominated for 9-15 categories.
In 2004 and 2005, FHS won Best Choreography. The musicals those years were Good News! and Lil’ Abner respectively. In 2006, FHS’ South Pacific won Best Musical, Best Scenic Design and Best Supporting Actress. In 2009, an FHS actor was a winning scholarship recipient.
