The Lady Mustangs came out on top twice this past week winning 11-1 on Tuesday vs La Marque and 7-2 on Thursday vs Texas City.
In the game vs La Marque, the Mustangs scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning, 4 in the 4th inning, and 3 in the 6th to finish out the scoring and winning by the 10 run rule.

The Lady Mustangs were able to produce 12 hits. Those getting hits were Amber Mills with 2 hits and 1 run, Carrie Flores with 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI's, Lauren Massar with 1 hit, a run and had 2 RBI's, Lindsey Davis with 1 hit and 2 runs, Rylie Kohls with a hit, a run and 1 RBI, Kelsey Eubanks with 2 hits one of those being a triple and 2 RBI's, Kelsi Acosta with 1 hit and 2 runs, Missy Jesionowski with 1 hit and a run, and Jackie Dubcak with 1 hit and a run.
Kelly Smith got the win on the mound giving up 2 hits 1 run that was earned and striking out 14.
On Thursday the Lady Mustangs traveled to Texas City to start the second round of district. Both teams were tied and in third place entering.
Texas City got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the 4th. Friendswood came back in the 5th with Carrie Flores delivering a big two run double scoring Missy Jesionowski and Amber Mills who each had singled.
In the bottom of the 5th, Texas City tied it up 2-2. There was no scoring in the 6th. Texas City did replace their pitcher Crystal Alainiz who was battling sickness.
In the 7th, the Lady Mustangs would take advantage of the new pitcher by producing five runs all with two outs. Missy Jesionowski would get on by an error from the shortstop. Amber Mills laid down a bunt single, Carrie Flores followed with a fielders choice that forced out Missy at third base. With two outs, runs on 1st and 2nd Lauren Massar came through with a 2-run double down the 3rd base line. LIndsey Davis followed with an infield single which after the throw to first did not get her the first base man tried to get Lauren rounding 3rd the throw was wild and over the 3rd basemans head which allowed Lauren and Lindsey to score. Rylie Kohls then hit a triple to right field and scored an a pass ball by the catcher to round out the scoring Kelly Smith would give up a hit in the 7th, but that runner would be erased trying to steal second on a throw from Rylie Kohls. Kelly would strike out the next 2 batters to end the game. Kelly runs her overall record to 14-5-1 and 5-3 in district both runs were earned. Others getting hits were Kelsi Acosta with a hit, Amber Mills and Rylie Kohls both finished with 2 hits each. It was a great way to start the second half of district as well as leading into the Easter Break. The Lady Mustangs are 16-9-1 overall and 5-3 in District. Next up for the Lady Mustangs is district leading Angleton on Tuesday, and 2nd place Santa Fe on Friday. Both games are home for the Lady Mustangs.
The Offensive player of the week is Carrie Flores, and the Defensive Player of the week is Rylie Kohls.
