News: The Friendswood High School Patriot Club
posted: August 24, 2009

A new club has formed at Friendswood High School: the FHS Patriot Club. Its purpose is to encourage love of the USA without partisan bias and to provide a positive outlet for American Patriotism.

Membership is open to all Friendswood High School students regardless of nationality or political affiliation.

The newly formed Patriot Club recently distributed 750 American Flags at the Fourth of July Parade.

Their proposed activities for the new school year include participation in the next Annual Friendswood Fourth of July Parade and Festivities, raise money to distribute small American Flags at the next Friendswood Fourth of July Parade, and raise money to help in replacing worn flags used by the City of Friendswood on Patriotic holidays.

They also plan to assist with the Patriotic Halftime show as needed, assist local homeowners and businesses with Worn Flag disposal and host a minimum of quarterly meetings of student membership.

Alex Lovely, senior, is the founding president of the Patriot Club. Mr. Robert Wise is the faculty representative/sponsor.

To find out more about the club, contact Alex at school or call 281-992-0150.
