Buses run late at times, construction makes a bus have a different approach for pickup or sometimes bus trouble will make a different bus do drop off .... this and much more can now be emailed to anyone who signs up in Friendswood ISD for the service. The Transportation Department is offering email services to let parents know if changes are in place for a pickup or drop off.

Signing up for this service is available at the Transportation Department website (under Departments on www.fisdk12.net). If anyone would like to receive important notifications from the transportation department, including notification of potential changes to stop times and stop locations or upcoming events, fill out and submit the form located at the website.
The notification system is part of the Friendswood ISD Interactive Route Locater.
Transportation Director Mike Jones wants parents to remember that during the start of the school year this site will experience heavy traffic, which may result in a slow response. Also, due to heavy vehicle traffic at the schools, and drivers and students learning their routes and stops, afternoon arrival times will be later than normal during the start of school.
The Interactive site is updated as school bus service and student pickup zones change. Times posted on this site reflect the expected time the bus should arrive during good weather.
Students should be at the bus stop location five minutes before scheduled time to avoid missing the bus. Due to time constraints the department will not be able to come back to pick them up if they miss the bus. They can't make the entire busload of students late to school because one student missed the bus.
Inclement weather or traffic congestion may cause the route to run later than posted time. The site shows the schools assigned to each address. Scheduled bus service appears below the school with the times the bus is scheduled to arrive and the bus number. Click on the listing to see a map of the area for the chosen stop.
Anyone with additional questions should contact the Transportation Department at 281-482-6025.
After the first two weeks bus stop times may change due to no riders; please check back at that time to the website. |
