The Friendswood High School Band recently participated in the Texas Music Educators Association All-District and All-Region Band auditions for Region 17. The FHS Band had 72 qualify for the All-District Band, of those, 60 qualified for the All Region Band, and 33 of those qualified for Area Band and a chance to audition for the All-State Band on January 9. The 60 qualifying for All-Region Band is a new record for the Friendswood High School Band.

Earning All-District Band Honors only were Jeremy Bass on Tenor Sax; Chelsea Coleman on Bassoon; Josh Gates on Oboe; Taylor Williams on Bass Clarinet; Michael Johnson on Alto Sax; Kelsey Faust and Allison Carlin on Bb Clarinet; Veronica Heintz on Flute; Michael Gregory on Percussion; Jonah Strickland, Aaron Holloway and Deke Wilson on Tuba; and David Alexander on Trumpet.
