The FHS Academic Decathlon team won regional competition recently at Manvel High School.  They beat the second place team Nederland by 10,000 points. 
           The FHS team also won the Super Quiz relay competition.  Austin Stump went five for five on the floor and was simply amazing, according to FHS teacher Renae Simons. 

           “The young man is a testing machine!” Simons said.
           Winston Wu had the highest overall score for medium school division. 
           There are nine overall individual winners in AD, and FHS won all nine.  They won over 90 individual medals. 
           Friendswood had the second highest score in the state behind Rockwall.  The team is now preparing for the State tournament.
           The team members are Winston Wu, Noah Kessler, Bryan Nguyen, Zach Wimer, Josh Warren, Davis Anderson, Isaac Dutton, Zack Thompson, and Austin Stump. Alternates are Mitchell Mize and Chase Stanford.
