News: Oklahoma! presented one more weekend

          OKLAHOMA! is the 42nd musical to be presented one more weekend at Friendswood High School February 26-27 at 7 pm and February 28 at 2:30 pm. The shows will be performed in the auditorium.

           This Rogers & Hammerstein collaboration involves families living in the Oklahoma territory at the turn of the century. Love, romance and just plain fun are parts of the daily life of the people. A high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful backdrop against which Curly, a handsome cowboy and Laurey, a winsome farm girl play out their love story. Love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.
           A total of 24 lead performers are involved in the production under the direction of Producer Myrlene Kennedy, Drama Amy Thornton, Drama Assistant Director Cliff Mabry, Vocal Music Janwin Overstreet-Goode, Choreographer Ashley Caterina, Set Construction and Design Amber Smith, Instrumental Music Julio Sanchez and Technical Assistant Kathy Powdrell.
           The leads include Chase Harris as Curly, Catherine Goode as Laurey, Teagan Batts as Aunt Eller, Brian Gallagher as Ike, Daniel Kriel as Fred, Josh Karam as Slim, Jeff Allison as Will Parker, Chris Hailey as Jud Fry, Lizzy Conger as Ado Annie, Mason Conrad as Ali Hakim, Audrey Bounds as Gertie Cummins, Meagan Holmes as Ellen, Hannah Vaughn as Virginia, Lindsey Landers as Kate, Abbey Griffon as Vivien, Ben Peck as Andrew Carnes, Alan Murphy as Cord Elam, Ben Watt as Dream Jud, Chris Harris as Dream Curly, Michelle Wallace as Dream Laurey, and The Singing Girls performed by Blythe Dever, Solange Mainer, Lauren Parker, Hannah Vaughn, and Stephanie Porter.
