News: Community Ed Winter Karate Starting Soon
posted: January 5, 2010

The Friendswood ISD Community Education Karate program will begin Thursday, January 14, 2010.  Classes are held at the Friendswood Junior High School in the Snack Bar area beginning at 6:30 pm for youngsters ages 5-12 years, and at 7:30 pm for students ages 13-70.

Community Education sponsors the American-Style Karate program and focuses on the art, sport, kidnapping awareness, self defense and self confidence aspects of the sport.  Beginner-Black Belt levels are offered.

Students are welcome to try the first lesson free, and registrations are taken during the first 3 weeks of class.  The January 14 classes continue through April 1 (no classes during FISD spring break) for 11 weeks of  Karate.  The 11-week session is followed by an 8-week Mini-Session, so it is possible to take Karate through the full spring semester.

Contact the FISD Community Education Office for additional information, 281-482-6000, or check out our webpage for course descriptions and registration forms.  You may find Community Education under Departments at fisdk12.net.
