All UIL member high schools in good standing are included for contention for the UIL Lone Star Cup.
The UIL Lone Star Cup program began during the 1997-98 season.
“To be recognized with a Statewide award for both academic and athletic successes is such a compliment to Friendswood ISD. We are proud of our well-rounded program and each year we see more and more success in all areas. We congratulate our students and staff for the outstanding year we have had and we are excited to receive the coveted Lone Star Cup for a second consecutive year,” Superintendent Trish Hanks said.

The five winners of the 2009-10 UIL Lone Star Cup were announced recently. In 5A, Conroe The Woodlands High School has captured its fourth Class 5A Lone Star Cup victory in five years. In 3A Lucas Lovejoy won its first Lone Star Cup. In 2A, Brock joins Holliday High School as only the second Class 2A school to win back-to-back Lone Star Cups. Cayuga High School won the 1A Lone Star Cup for the first time. |
