Two 2010 graduated seniors from Friendswood High School have been selected to receive scholarships from the FISD Alumni Association.
            Mattie Hawkins and Nicholas Kemp will both receive a $500 scholarship.
            Their two names were drawn by FISD Board members and alumni Tony Hopkins and Mike Shaw.  Alumnus David Montz, DDS, helped the two board members with the baskets from which they drew.
            Each year the alumni present a scholarship to one boy and one girl at FHS with simple criteria:  each must be a graduating senior and plan to attend a school or institution of higher learning.

            Hawkins plans to attend San Jacinto Community College and Kemp will attend University of Houston-Main Campus.
            Hawkins is the daughter of Chris and Teri Hawkins of Friendswood.
            Kemp is the son of Robert and Elizabeth Kemp of Friendswood.
