The Lady Mustangs went 2 and 3 this past week, which was good enough for 4th place in the gold bracket of the Lamar Consolidated Tournament, according to Coach Kevin Parr.

The hitting stars were several. Amber Mills had a double and scored a run, Carrie Flores scored two runs, Lindsey Davis had a 3 run homerun, Rylie Kohls hit 2 homeruns (a solo, and a 3-run), and Lauren Massar, Kelsey Eubanks, and Kelsi Acosta also each had a hit.
The Lady Mustangs lost a tough one to Fort Bend Dulles 2-1, Lauren Massar took the loss on the mound allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, both earned with 2 strikeouts. Hitting stars were Amber Mills, Lindsey Davis, Lauren Massar, and Sabrina Yates. Each had a hit. Amber scored the lone run for the Mustangs.
The Lady Mustangs bounced back on Saturday to defeat Sealy 3-0. Kelly Smith got the win going 5 innings giving up one hit and striking out 9. Amber Mills had 2 hits scored a run, Carrie Flores scored a run, and Lindsey Davis had a hit and scored a run.
Next came the defending 3A state champs Needville. A very tough game but in the end we lost 2-0 on 2 errors. Keely Smith went the distance giving up 4 hits and striking out 9, both runs were unearned. Amber Mills led the hitting with 3 hits, and Lindsey Davis also had a hit.
The last game, which was for third place, pitted the Lady Mustangs against Seven Lakes. The Lady Mustangs came out on the short end 5-3. Lauren Massar took the loss going 5 innings while giving up 5 runs 3 earned, striking out 2.
The Defense did not help by committing three errors that led to a few of the runs. Hitting for the Mustangs were Amber Mills with 2 hits scored a run, LIndsey Davis had a hit and scored a run along with 2 rbi's, Rylie Kohls had 2 hits and one of those being a double and had a rbi. Lauren Massar had a hit, and Jackie Dubcak had a hit and scored a run. The Lady Mustangs are 11-6-1 on the year now.
The Lady Mustangs began district play last weekend vs Texas City at Friendswood. It was also Teacher Appreciation Night.
