For three weeks in February students at Windsong Intermediate donated their snack money for the benefit of the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti.
Windsong presented a check to the American Red Cross for $911.05 recently. This is in addition to the $1,576.40 that Melissa Gibson's Social Studies classes donated to UNICEF from their Hope for Haiti Carwash held February 13. |

Windsong would like to give special thanks to Gibson's classes for their carwash, Mrs. April Darling and her family for the providing an incentive at the beginning of the drive and to fifth grade students, Nadia Asgari-Tari, Maddie Thompson, and Avery Strahm for their leadership in the drive. Windsong students have truly shown that they care about others.
Windsong's next step in its effort to help Haiti is to challenge other schools in FISD to raise at least $1 per student for the people of Haiti. That was Windsong's original goal and students have far exceeded it.
