News: Friendswood Community Ed Summer Registration Going On Now!

        FISD Community Education is hosting its 35th consecutive Summer Youth Program from June 7-July 1, at Bales Intermediate School on Stadium Lane in Friendswood.  Registration is ongoing and some camps are already full.  There are activities for children as young as 4 through 14-16 years of age.  It is not necessary to live in Friendswood or attend FISD schools to participate in the summer program.

        Among the many Art/Craft camps and classes offered this summer are:  Art Camp, Art-Painting, Art-Pastels, Awesome Origami, Artistic Adventures is Art, Drawing Made Easy, Edible Art, Felting, Jewelry Creations, Knitting, Paint Your Own Pottery, Peace Love Earth Jewelry, and Scrapbook Fun.
        Cooking and etiquette camps include:  Lil' Chefs, Manners Matter, and Short Order Cooks I and II.
        Drama and music camps offered this summer are Camp Rockstar, Creative Drama, Get a Clue (Mystery Theater), Lights Action Drama, Music Madness, Music & Movement, and Piano Keyboard Fun.
        Science/Technology offerings range from Digital Storytelling, Girls Go to Mars, Lego Robotics and Rocket Science, to Oooh Ahhh Science.
        Sports, dance and fitness camps include:  Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance/Drill, Fitness 101, Flag Football, Lacrosse, and Volleyball Camps.
        Additional camps include Books for Little Readers, People v. A. Wolf (a glimpse of courtroom drama), Red Cross Babysitting, and Summer Kick-Off.
        There is something for everyone, so drop by the Community Education Office, 302 Laurel Drive, 9 am-1 pm, Tuesday-Thursday, or pick up a summer brochure at the Friendswood Public Library.  The summer camps are also listed online at www.fisdk12.net (you will find Community Ed under Departments).  Call 281-482-6000 for additional information and to determine which camps are still available.
