It is Christmas Eve and Ebenezer Scrooge sits in his counting house while his clerk attempts warming his hands with a candle.  Little do they know of the strange occurrences about to come which will change their lives forever. 

            The world of Charles Dickens and the wonder of Christmas come to life on the stage at Friendswood High School starting December 3.  In this original adaptation by Amy Thornton and Amy S. Tones, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who endeavor to save his soul by means of opening his eyes to the world around him. Friendswood High School’s cast of 39 is enhanced by the inclusion of 27 students from Windsong  Intermediate, Bales Intermediate, and Friendswood Junior High School. 
            These students have taken part in an acting clinic as well as rehearsals for the production.  In four Saturday morning sessions, the students were taught acting, movement, voice, and makeup by members of the State Champion One-Act Play cast and Thespian Troupe 1084 under the direction of Amy Thornton. 
            The role of Scrooge is played by Mason Conrad with Chris Hailey as Bob Cratchit, Brian Gallagher as Fred, Julia Taylor, Teagan Batts, Chase Harris, and Paul Harrington as the ghosts. The cast also includes  Davis Anderson, Aaron Arribe, John Coates, Morgan Crawley, Ashley Dinjar, Rebecca Dockall, Anna Drake, Ashley Easterly, AmyJo  Foreman, Meagan Holmes, Kaylee Huff, Bobby Jacobs, Peter Kaminsky, Sarah Kerstiens, Jillian Landers, Kelsey McIlveen, Mark Milner, Michael Moeller, Brittany Nemirovsky, Jon Olansen, Colleen Owen, Stephanie Porter, Juliana Ramirez, Kyle Sanders, Rachel So, Blake Sokora, Chandler Stevic, Tommy Stuart, Zack Thompson, Connor Tones, Michelle Wallace, and Alex Williams.

            A Christmas Carol runs December 3-5 at 7 pm and December 6 at 2:30 pm in the Friendswood High School Auditorium, 702 Greenbriar.  Tickets are $7 at-the-door.  The box office will open at 6 pm.  For more information, please call 281-482-3413 x115.
