Nominations for Distinguished Alumni are due October 31 to the Friendswood High School Alumni Association. This is the third year former graduates from FHS will be recognized at the annual gala of the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation.
      This year’s event, Luv Ya Blue, will be Valentine weekend, Feb. 13 at the Hotel ZaZa in Houston.

      Nomination forms for the alumni can be found on the Education Foundation page of the district website at www.fisdk12.net..
      The alumni must have graduated between 1940-1988 and in the essay section of the nomination have specific ways in their lives or careers that they have distinguished themselves from others who are also successful graduates.
      The first set of Distinguished Alumni was State Representative Larry Taylor, Linn Eignus, Larry Speck, Anita Griffon and Honorary Alumnus, Dr. Myrlene Kennedy.
      Last year Kent Ballard, Jim Hill, Beryl Cline, Floyd Brown, Randy Speck, and Honorary Alumnus, Dr. David Hearn.
      Distinguished alumni are named with one of the Six Pillars of Character each.  A poster is made of the winners and then displayed in every classroom in all six campuses in FISD.
