News: Wranglerettes host annual quilt raffle
posted: October 16, 2009

It’s that time of year again when the Friendswood High School Wranglerettes have their annual quilt raffle. This year’s grand finale quilt is a beautiful blue and white quilt representing Friendswood school colors created by Carole Falcone.

The quilt can be viewed at the ticket table at the Friendswood High School home football games. The raffle tickets are only $1 and can be purchased at the FHS home football games or from any of the Wranglerettes.
The winner will be announced at half time on Friday November 6 at the last home game of the regular football season.
The Wranglerette quilt raffles have been made possible by the wonderful support of Carole Falcone, known as Gramma Falcone to the Wranglerettes. Gramma Falcone’s involvement with the quilt raffle started in 2004 when she donated quilt fabric as part of the local quilting club and helped make some of the quilts.
Gramma Falcone made her first masterpiece quilt for the raffle in 2005. Since becoming an avid quilt maker, she has provided each year the quilts for the raffle.  Gramma Falcone has many other talents including designing and sewing dance costumes for several of the local dance teams including the National Champion Wranglerettes, as well as, the greater Houston area dance teams.
Gramma Falcone has two granddaughters who are FHS alumni. They were three year members of the Wranglerette dance team and were dance officers.  The Wranglerettes past and present wish to thank Gramma Falcone for all her years of support for providing beautiful quilts for the Wranglerette quilt raffles.
