Previous character counts award recipients at FHS are to wear their t-shirts and carry their backpacks during Red Ribbon Week.
Last Saturday FHS members ‘wrapped the town red’ after a Red Ribbon celebration in Stevenson Park. The mayor, superintendent, and clubs and organization representatives and members attended.
Monday the trait was Caring and the color red. The day was sponsored by HOSA. The treat was lifesavers and the dress theme was Everyday Hero costumes.
During the day, there was an MCS skit with HOSA members dressed up like doctors, policemen, and such to demonstrate how everyday people can make a difference in our lives.
On Tuesday, Responsibility was the trait with green the color. The treat was Snickers because “Responsibility is nothing to Snicker about.”
Wednesday is Respect with yellow as color. The treat is Laffy Taffy because “Self Respect is staying strong when those around you are weak.” Sponsor is Pals.
Respect for self guides our values; respect for others guides our manners.
Thursday will be Citizenship Day with purple as the color. Interact sponsors the day with “Interact with your community not with drugs!” The treat is Mini Three Musketeer bars with “citizenship: all for one and one for all.”
The final day is Friday with the trait of trustworthiness and the color blue. It is Spirit Day. Sponsored by CLEAR, the treat for the day is suckers with “Don’t be a SUCKER to peer pressure.”
The other five campuses also celebrated Red Ribbon Week.
