LOCAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR RECEIVES BRIDGES TO THE FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AWARD

posted: October 7, 2009

FRIENDSWOOD, TX, October 7, 2009 – Alison P. Rendon, Executive Director of Business with Friendswood Independent School District, has been named a MetLife Resources/ASBO International Bridges to the Future Scholarship recipient. The Bridges to the Future Scholarship program was developed by MetLife Resources and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) to recognize and support school business officials who have five years or less experience in the field and who are interested in further developing their knowledge, skills and leadership.

“Our schools depend on strong leadership from school business administration officials for success. Alison’s dedication to this field, as well as her high standards, has made her an emerging leader in this area,” said Thomas G. Hogan Jr., senior vice president and head of MetLife Resources. “MetLife is proud to support Alison’s future development, as well as the development of others, through the Bridges to the Future Scholarship Program.”

Through the program, honorees receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend the ASBO International 95th Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Chicago, Illinois in October 2009. Recipients also attend a special pre-conference workshop and networking luncheon at the Annual Meeting and have free access to the ASBO International Live Learning Center, which features more than 75 hours of professional development education from the 2009 Annual Meeting sessions.

“The Bridges to the Future Scholarship Program is a great professional development experience,” noted John D. Musso, RSBA, ASBO Executive Director. “It gives us the opportunity to welcome Alison to the field and recognizes her excellent work. ASBO is pleased to honor Alison and other promising school business officials through this program.”
