News: Bales PTO offers new Family Fest event as fundraiser

Nutcracker Market replaced by earlier craft show, Haunted House

posted: Sept. 21, 2009

Bales Intermediate PTO have a new fundraising idea and they are working hard to bring it to fruition. Instead of their popular annual December Nutcracker Market, the group decided to try an earlier event that allows their parents and the community to get a jump on holiday items. The new event is the first annual Family Fun Fest set for October 17 from 3-7 pm at Bales Intermediate.

Activities will include a Spooky Haunted House, games and rides, Fall Fest Craft Show, a raffle trip drawing for a DisneyWorld trip for a family of four including hotel and air, basket drawings, a ghostly general store, a silent auction and great food items.
Games and rides will include laser tag, bungee jumping, and a 90-foot adrenaline rush obstacle course.
The Fall Fest Craft Show will include vendors from the previous year’s Nutcracker Market along with some new vendors.
Food items will include barbecue, cotton candy and many more goodies that will delight all ages.
Triple chairwomen for the event include Janet Banfield, Terrie Dobard and Robbin Salinas.
“The day promises to have something outstanding for all ages,” Banfield said. “With the community’s help in sponsorship and volunteer hours, we plan on raising funds for our school to be able to update some much needed equipment.”
