C. W. Cline Elementary is now an official WeatherBug school. A WeatherBug Tracking Station in now fully operational on the campus, calibrated and broadcasting throughout the entire WeatherBug network.
More than 7,000 WeatherBug stations exist in schools across the nation. |

Cline has a tracking station on top of the school, which measures data. The measured data is collected and processed inside the school on a single computer and WeatherBug Master Control Unit. Data is pushed across the internet and is made accessible through WeatherBug in every classroom, at home for teachers and students and from any computer in the school.
With the station comes award-winning educational software called WeatherBug Achieve which can be accessed anywhere via the Internet, dynamic lessons and tools that cover concepts in Science, Math, Social Studies, and Technology, is part of the world’s largest weather network, has live and historical weather data from 27 real time weather parameters and offers live and time-lapse camera images. The software also offers the fastest alert for emergency preparedness in possible severe weather.
Weather is also the ideal subject matter for school. It offers real world situations, affects all every day, provides lessons in mathematics using measurement, analysis and interpretation and problem solving, in science, investigation, matter and energy, motion and problem solving, and in geography, mapping skills, topography, populations and problem solving.
Educational benefits of the project include real life learning activity to provide daily weather information to school, develop research and analytical skills, improve oral and written presentation skills, foster student responsibility to school, engage students in school activity, and build awareness of the value of weather information. Students will also experience technology that impacts everyday life.
