News: FHS to celebrate Homecoming Oct. 9, 10

           Three FHS girls have been named Homecoming 2009 Queen candidates with three named Sweetheart candidates. Winners will be announced at the October 9, 2009 Varsity Football game.
            Homecoming Queen candidates include McKenna Harclerode, Abbey Rogers, and Kelsey Eubanks.

            McKenna is the daughter of Marty and Barsa Harclerode of Friendswood.  Abbey is the daughter of Tim and Phoebie Rogers of Friendswood and Kelsey is the daughter of Steven and Samantha Eubanks of Friendswood.
            The three candidates for Football Sweetheart are Erica Wilkins, Jessica Kennemer, and Kamilah Todd.
            Erica is the daughter of Tamara Wilkins and the late Eric Wilkins. Jessica is the daughter of Bryan and Kemberly Kennemer and Kamilah is the daughter of Alton and Nari Todd. All are from Friendswood.
            For Homecoming the Varsity Mustangs will face the Santa Fe Indians. The game begins at 7 pm. Prior to the game, a pre-game dinner will be served in the cafeteria from 5-6:30 pm.
            The returning class of 1990 will be recognized and honored at 6:30 pm.
            Crowning of Queen and Sweetheart will take place at halftime.
 The Sophomore Class at Friendswood High School is sponsoring a Homecoming Dance in the school cafeteria on Saturday, October 10, from 8 – 11 p.m.   All FHS students are invited to attend.
          Tickets will be on sale at all pre-game dinners.  Denise Fancett, the school receptionist, will also have tickets.  In addition, tickets can be purchased from any Sophomore Class Officer or from Amber Smith, Sophomore Class Sponsor.
          Pre-sale tickets are $5.  Tickets purchased at the door are $7. 
          All tickets become a raffle ticket for the ITouch to be given away that evening.
During this week before the Homecoming game, students at FHS are celebrating with different themes for attire.
          Students participating wore a Disney tee-shirt or favorite character day tee on Monday, dressed up on Tuesday, wore an outfit for Nerd Day on Wednesday, camo on Thursday and on Friday will dress for Mustang Spirit Day. This was planned by the Student Council under the direction of teacher and coach, Laura Peter.
