A robotics team from Bales competed at the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) State Robotics Championship in San Angelo recently. The Mighty Mustangs team placed second at Regional competition and advanced to state.
Team members include Alex Wachowicz, Wyatt Hall, Luke Revere, and Clay Davis. Sponsors include Stacy Mueller, Piper German, and Terry Chalene.
Parents of all students made the trip to San Angelo as well.
The TCEA LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Competition is based on the LEGO Mindstorms robotics platform. This competition is administered by the Texas Computer Education Association.
Its mission is the improvement of teaching and learning through the use of computers and technology.
Students receive a set of challenge rules and specifications designed around a theme that varies from year to year. This year's theme was Texas Tea, designed around the process of oil exploration and drilling. Teams compete against one another in head-to-head competition through regional and state level play.
