News: Lady Mustangs Fall Short

Written by Coach Kevin Parr

The Lady Mustangs came up short this past Tuesday in their quest for a tri-championship with Santa Fe and Manvel.
The Lady Mustangs lost 7-4 vs the Lady Indians.  The Lady Mustangs fell behind 7-2 going into the bottom of the 7th, but after a lead-off homerun by Lindsey Davis to cut the lead to 7-3, the Lady Mustangs made a gallant effort by scoring another run and having the bases loaded with two outs, Amber Mills hit a ball to the left centerfield wall that was caught to end the game 7-4.  Amber Mills finished the night with 3 hits, scoring a run and driving one in.
Lindsey Davis would also have 3 hits one of those being the homerun, scoring a run, and driving one in.  Lauren Massar would have 2 hits one of those being a double and driving in a run.  Tori Homer, Hayley Spicer-Kendall, Sabrina Yates, and Caroline Hunter would each have a hit.  Lauren Massar would take the loss giving up 7 runs 4 earned, striking out 2.
This concludes the regular season.  The Lady Mustangs stand at 19-11 overall and 9-3 in District.  Next up is the Bay City Black Cats site and date to be determined.
