The Lady Mustangs started off the week by winning 10-0 on Tuesday vs LaMarque.
The Lady Mustangs were led on offense by Lauren Massar with 2 hits, and Caitlin Garivey, Lindsey Davis, Tori Homer, Rylie Kohls, Kelsi Acosta, Jackie Dubcak, and Joan Gray each getting a hit. Hayley Spicer-Kendall had a triple as well. Those scoring runs for the Lady Mustangs were Lindsey Davis, and Joan Gray each scoring once, Tori Homer, Rylie Kohls, Hayley Spicer-Kendall, and Missy Jesionowski each scoring twice. Caitlin Garivey, Tori Homer, and Kelsi Acosta each had an RBI. Hayley and Jackie each had 2 RBI’s. Lauren Massar got the win on the mound going 5 innings giving up 4 hits, walking 1, and striking out 4 in the shutout.
With the win the Lady Mustangs are 19-9 overall and 9-1 in District.
On Friday, the Lady Mustangs traveled to Manvel. It would be a slugfest, but the Lady Mustangs would come up on the short end 17-14. The Lady Mustangs would pound out 17 hits, and the Mavericks would pound out 14. Both teams would commit 5 errors in the game, which help in the scoring being so high.
Each team took advantage of the other team’s mistake. Those getting hits for the Lady Mustangs were Amber Mills with 3 hits, scoring 2 runs and getting 2 RBI’s, Caitlin Garivey 2 hits one of those a triple, scoring a run and driving a run in, Lindsey Davis driving in a run and scoring a run, Lauren Massar with 2 hits one of those a double and 4 RBI’s, Tori Homer getting a hit and scoring a run, Rylie Kohls getting 2 hits one of those a double, getting a walk and being hit by a pitch, scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, Hayley Spicer-Kendall would get 4 hits 2 of those being triples and scoring a run, Kelsi Acosta scoring 2 runs, and Jackie Dubcak getting 3 hits, scoring 1 run and driving in 2, Missy Jesionowski would score 2 runs and steal a base, and Christina Peck would score a run. Lauren Massar would take the loss giving up 17 runs 11 of those earned, striking out only 1.
This moves the Lady Mustangs to 19-10 overall and 9-2 in District. |
