News: Color Guards continue to compete
posted: April 5, 2011

After an undefeated season performing their show entitled Falling Slowly, FJH Color Guard brought home their third State Championship trophy from the TCGC State Championships this past weekend.  FJH Color Guard is led in part by members of the High School Color Guard team, and directed by Ron Barnett.
Friendswood High School Varsity Color Guard was awarded the Silver Medal at the TCGC State Championship on Saturday.  Their performance, A Great Mystery continues to delight the audiences, according to Barnett.
“They got a standing ovation from the packed house,” he said.
The Varsity score was the second highest out of 158 participants, regardless of classification.
The FHS JV and Varsity Color Guard will continue on to WGI (Winter Guard International) in Dayton, Ohio soon to compete in the National Championships.
