News: Everyone invited to Round Up at Westwood this Saturday
posted: April 11, 2011

The Friendswood community is invited and encouraged to attend Westwood Elementary’s ROUND UP, the campus’ 9th Annual Spring Fundraiser Saturday, April 16, 11 am to 5 pm.
As a result of Round Up in the previous years, the PTO was able to purchase many items for the school to help enrich learning experiences for children at the campus.
“Our goal this year is to continue to raise funds for the school and to purchase items to help fulfill the wish list of the educational tools desired for the staff at Westwood Elementary,” Co-Chair Deana Baggett said.
This year’s event offers a variety of food, games for children of all ages, rides, the popular raffle items and auctions.
Plans at the event are to raffle off a cruise, a trip to the Texas Hill Country, an iPad, and more. There will be live and silent auctions with many popular items. Auction items include a trip to Costa Rica, seven nights at the Westin Kierland in Scotsdale, Arizona, fishing trip, a baseball autographed by Craig Biggio, theater and museum packages, wine tastings, golf, dinners, and much more.
Plus there will be a large assortment of prize-filled baskets to be raffled.
Online auctions as well as information about the family funfilled event can be found at www.rounduponline.org. Auction items and sponsors as well as committee members are available at the site.
Chairs for the event are Deana Baggett and Dawn Barta.
Barta joined Westwood at Wednesday Warbles recently to award the students there who sold the most tickets for the Round Up raffle. Tristan Hays was the kindergarten winner with Set Spruiell as the first grade winner. Madisen Bodie won for second grade and CJ Barta won for third grade.
