News: Lacrosse starts district play

           Friendswood High School Varsity Lacrosse opened district play recently with a 12-3 win against Pearland. 
           Senior Goalie Chase Stanford, Senior Attackman Mike Moore and Sophomore Attackman Troy Richardson got the Mustangs to a fast start and FHS led from start to finish.
           Springbreak meant road trips for the team.
           Varsity Lacrosse traveled to Baton Rouge, LA and Gulfport, MS over spring break playing two games enroute to the Battle by the Beach Tournament in Gulfport, MS.
         In Baton Rouge,  FHS beat Dutchtown High School from Geismer, Louisiana 11-8 and came back from 5 goals down the next night to upset Baton Rouge Catholic 9-8 in overtime.
         In Gulfport,  in the first game of the tournament, FHS jumped out to 5-1 lead on New Orleans Jesuit and held on for a 7-5 upset over the #1 state ranked Blue Jays. 
           FHS lost the next two games versus St. Thomas More and St. Paul School but finished with a solid 3-1 win over Mandeville.
