News: New Program Offered for Teens and Parents
posted: March 28, 2011

Teens at Friendswood, Clear Brook, or Clear Springs high schools now have an opportunity to become involved in an exciting new Teen Court offered by the City of Friendswood Municipal Court.  Teens can volunteer and be trained to fill the jobs of prosecutor, bailiff, jurors, defense attorney or county clerk. Training classes are scheduled to begin in April.
Teen Court allows offenders to assume responsibility for their own actions by getting involved in the judicial process and community services in order that their offenses may be dismissed. Teen offenders with Class C misdemeanor violations must enter a plea of guilty or no contest, request participation in the program, and pay the required teen court fees. A parent or guardian must be present at the time of the enrollment and during the Teen Court session.
Details are provided in the linked wanted Poster, Teen Court brochure, teen volunteer application form and adult volunteer application form.  Forms contain information on how and where to submit info or make inquiries.
