News: Lady Mustangs-Playoffs come to end

The Lady Mustangs season came to an end recently.  They lost in a best 2 out of 3 to Bay City in 2 games.
On Friday the Lady Mustangs traveled to Bay City and in a hard fought pitcher’s duel they lost 1-0 when Andrea Hawkins of Bay City hit a homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning.  The Lady Mustangs had opportunities to score, but could not come up with that key hit.
The Lady Mustangs would only get 3 hits those coming from Amber Mills, Lauren Massar, and Hayley Spicer-Kendall.  Lauren Massar would take the loss going the distance giving up only 4 hits with 3 strikeouts.  On Saturday the Lady Mustangs would be at home to take on the Lady Cats from Bay City.
Bay City would strike first in the 1st inning when Andrea Hawkins would get on by and error.  She would move to second on a sacrifice bunt and then would score on an errant throw back to the pitcher.  The Lady Cats would make that run stand up to preserve the win.
The Lady Mustangs had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 4th inning with no outs, but could not get a key hit to tie the game, or take the lead.  The Mustangs were led at the plate with Amber Mills, Lindsey Davis, Lauren Massar, and Samantha Sandridge all getting hits.   Lauren Massar would take the loss going the distance giving up 3 hits, 1 run unearned, and striking out 4.
The Lady Mustangs finish the year 19-13 overall and 9-3 in District.  They had a great year.
