News: Special Olympics Team competes

           The Friendswood Special Olympics Team competed in the Area 22 Special Olympics Athletics Tournament recently at Clear Creek High School.  There were 24 teams in the competition. 
     Friendswood had 15 athletes competing in the tournament.  Athletes from Windsong, Friendswood Jr. High, and Friendswood High School competed.
     Overall, Friendswood won six first place winners who recevied Gold medals, ten second place with Silver medals, seven third place with Bronze medals, five fourth place ribbons, one fifth place ribbon, and one seventh place ribbon.
     At Windsong, Audry Crues received second place with a Silver medal in the 100 meter dash and first place with a Gold medal in the Softball Throw
     Macie Lewis won third place with a Bronze medal in the 50 meter dash and Softball Throw.
     Sterling Dean received a fourth place ribbon in the 50 meter dash.
     At Friendswood Jr. High, Garrett Burtzlaff won third place with a Bronze medal in the 100 meter dash and Softball Throw.
     Brittney Conway received first place with a Silver medal in the 100 meter dash and a fifth place ribbon in the Softball Throw.
     Ollie Garza won fourth place ribbons in the 100 meter dash and Softball Throw.
     Cristopher Martinez won second place with a Silver medal in the 200 meter dash and Softball Throw.
     Jake Randal was awarded a first place Gold medal in the 50 meter dash and Softball Throw.
      At Friendswood High School,  Chelsea Breaux won second place and a silver medal in the 100 meter dash and Softball Throw.
      Laura Bowlin received first place and a Gold medal in the 100 meter dash and third place with a Bronze medal in the Softball Throw.
     Kevin Brown was awarded second place and a  Silver medal in the 100 meter dash and Softball Throw.
     Mikey Hickey won a fourth place ribbon in the 100 meter dash and second place and Silver medal in the Softball Throw.
     Daniel Presley received third place  and  a Bronze medal in the 100 meter dash and first place with a Gold medal in the Softball Throw.
      Jay Reynolds won a seventh place ribbon in the 100 meter dash and third place    Bronze medal in the Softball Throw.  Jay also won a first place Gold medal in his Horse Show that morning.
      Ben Theriault won second place and  a Silver medal in the 200 meter dash and Softball Throw.
