News: FHS named UIL Champion for 6th consecutive years

           Friendswood High School brought home its 6th consecutive University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Academic Championship and the 7th in the last 8 years recently after State competition in UIL events in Austin.           
           The championship was a result of points earned for winning in individual categories and teams.
          In Computer Applications, Winston Wu won first place with Noah Kessler in second place.
          In the Computer Science category, Wu again won first place with Kyle Wiley in fifth place and Kessler in sixth.
          Simone Crotteau received fourth place in News Writing.
          Chris Hailey received fifth place in Poetry Interpretation.
          In Spelling and Vocabulary, Kaitlin Gruener was awarded first place.
          Noah Kessler won fifth place.
            The Computer Science Team received first place.
            The Spelling and Vocabulary Team also received first place.
            In the State contest, 63 schools earned points.
            Friendswood earned 114 and first place; Dawson High School was in second place with 75 points, and Highland Park was in third with 65 points.
