Two FHS art students had work chosen in a recent art contest, Culture Shapers.
Culture Shapers is an art competition sponsored by Houston businessmen to promote the arts and help motivate students to use their time wisely in order to achieve a high quality of artwork.
The competition took place recently at Westfield High School. There were 1,462 entries from all over the Houston area.
There were six art categories and the 10 top art students were chosen from each category.
Two of our students were chosen from the Mixed Media category. They are Jack Corpening and Tory Trebig.
“This is an awesome accomplishment and each of them have a chance to win the top prize in their category of $5,000,” FHS art teacher Jan Nemitz said. “They deserve a pat on the back for their outstanding artwork. A huge plus is that they are honored for their achievements and are able to keep their artwork.” |
