News: Friendswood High School Theatre to stage Hamlet
posted: November 29, 2010

Madness, melancholy and murder take the stage when Friendswood High School Theatre presents Shakespeare’s masterpiece Hamlet. When Denmark’s king dies mysteriously, young Hamlet becomes unsettled when his uncle takes the throne of the kingdom and marries his widowed Mother in quick succession. A ghostly visitor sends Hamlet on a journey that will lead to revenge, madness, or death.
Under the direction of Amy Thornton and Kathy Powdrell, senior Mason Conrad plays the melancholy Prince Hamlet, with Chris Hailey as the usurping uncle, Claudius and Lindsay Landers as Queen Gertrude. Also featured in the cast of 37 are Kaylee Huff as Ophelia, Brian Gallagher as Laertes and Jeffrey Allison as Polonius.
Performances are scheduled December 2 and 3 at 7 pm and December 5 at 2:30 pm in the Friendswood High School Auditorium. Tickets are $7 at the door. For more information, call 281-482-3413, ext. 115.
