News: FJH Cross Country takes first and second at Zone meet

           The Running Lady Mustangs from Friendswood Junior High School won the Zone Meet for Cross-country recently, according to Coach Paula Kelly.
           The top five runners were Erin Kaltenbaugh in 1st place, Tifani Winfiled with 3rd place, Jaylah Lee in 8th place, Sophie Zehentner taking 10th place and Elaina Roher in  15th place.
           Others in the top 25 were Ashley Byron with 16th place, Franceshesca LaBate in 20th place, Abi Savage taking 22nd and Brooke Burris  in 25th place.
           The 8th Grade Girls Cross-country Team placed second at the Zone meet.
           “They worked hard but just fell short of winning the Championship,” Coach Kelly said.
           The Top five runners were Alex Frankhouser in 3rd place, Samantha Montz with  9th place, Alexis Rachita taking 10th place, Danielle Ruffeno in 14th place and Courtney Weber with 16th place.
           Other runners in the top 25 were Elizabeth Njaa with 17th place, Brittany Morgan in 18th place, Megan Mai in 20th place and  Simona Taddei with  24th place.
