Friendswood ISD will hold a public meeting at 7 pm, October 14, 2008 in
the FISD Administration Building Board Room, 302 Laurel Drive,
Friendswood, TX. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Friendswood ISD's rating on the state's financial accountability system.

Bales science students get involved in helping bay recovery
Students in Tierni Sager's sixth grade science classes at Bales Intermediate completed a lesson to give back to the precious bay after Hurricane Ike. The lesson, Get Hip to Habitat, involved the science students and the Galveston Bay Foundation joining in partnership with British Petroleum (BP), Lyondell, NRG and the Kempner Fund to empower students to value Galveston Bay and act to protect and preserve it through field trip experiences. Get Hip to Habitat is a program of the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) that intermingles education and marsh restoration initiatives.

FHS to present Mustang Follies
The Friendswood High School Drama Department will kick off  this year's season with a performance of Mustang Follies presented by the Comedy Cabaret Improv Troupe. The production, which includes improvisation games, comedy sketches, and a new long form improv goes up on October 11 for a quick, one-day, two-show run at 7 pm and 9 pm in the Studio Theatre at FHS. Students learn by doing and that is what labs in Tierni Sager's classes at Bales Intermediate are all about.
