First responders honored for hard work with luncheon
  First responders following Hurricane Ike in Friendswood ISD were 38 members of the custodial staff and 19 maintenance employees. Damages to the six campuses and various departmental buildings were determined immediately following the hurricane and recovery began. Clean up and repairs took ...
Calendar Changes
   Due to the loss of instructional days from Hurricane IKE, the school calendar is being adjusted.
   October 13 will become a student day instead of a staff development day.
   The first 9 weeks will now end on October 24.  Report cards will be distributed on October 31.
   The School Board will make any other adjustments at the October 14 meeting. Once adjustments have been determined, new calendars will be printed and distributed.

Hurricane Ike Relief Collection
"Big Box Fill" ready to go
  TSA (Technology Students' Association) and Sponsor Terry Zimmerman at Friendswood HS are organizing the hurricane relief effort for Ike victims who lost everything. They are collecting items and placing them in the Big Box in the Sr. Mall.
  Some people in neighboring communities have lost everything due to Ike and need help to get back to a normal life. Please help by bringing donations to the High School Sr. Mall from now until Oct 15. Items will be given to area families to help them get back on their feet.
  Please help with the "Big Box Fill" with these needed items.
Friendswood High School Band Boosters hold Annual Poinsettia Sale
The Mighty Mustang Band Booster Club has started its annual poinsettia sale. These hardy plants will add color to any Christmas decor!  The small plants are $12 and come in red, white, pink, jingle bell and marble. The medium plants are $22 and come in red, white and pink. The large plants are $29 and come in red. These prices include a beautiful plant, free delivery on the first weekend in December, and a smile from a grateful band student!  To order these lovely poinsettias, talk to any FHS band student or call Tammy Zurawski at (281) 331-1581.
