This will be Friendswood's seventh appearance at the state soccer tournament. Previous years were 1999, 2000, 2001 (State 4A Champion), 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Cline Ribbon CuttingCline hosts ribbon cutting for new Helping Hands Garden
What started as an idea on paper became a grant come true to Cline by the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation in May 2008.
On April 2, 2009 it became a reality.
Cline Elementary's new Helping Hands Garden was a grant proposal for an outdoor learning center at the campus. In the garden, five teachers planned to have the children learn about and watch the cycle of life in butterflies and frogs, see composting in action and watch and tend the earth cycle of plants.

Color GuardFHS Varsity Color Guard wins at National competition
History was made by the FHS Varsity Color Guard when they attended the Winter Guard International National Championships and placed.  At the event, 104 guards competed.
They made the finals in the Scholastic A Division and finished 13th in the nation. This is the first time a color guard from Friendswood has ever accomplished this. They advanced from prelims to semi-finals and then to 13th of the top 15.
They had their best show ever. Friendswood finished 13th in the nation. The only other Texas schools in the class were De Soto High School at 8th position, America's High School at 14th and Mansfield High School at 15th position.
During the season the team won the WGI Austin Regional, the WGI Houston Regional, and was third at the Dallas Power Regional. They also swept the local events.
Ron Barnett is in his second year as Color Guard Director.
