Round Up this Sat to offer great auctions
  Family fun along with incredible auction items are ready to go this Saturday, April 18 at Westwood Elementary's annual fundraiser Round Up. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm and parents should definitely bring their checkbooks/credit cards to help the campus while purchasing incredible auction items.
  Some of the items include the following:
Girls Soccer State
  The girls soccer team ended their season this past weekend at the state tournament.  On Thursday, they defeated Wichita Falls Rider in the semifinal game by a score of 3 - 2.
   Annalisa Hall scored two goals and Delaina McGee scored the game winner.  The defense held on strong to clinch the win.  On Saturday, the girls finished as the number two team in the state following a 0 - 1 loss to Richardson Pearce in the state final game.   
   "Please congratulate the girls on their successful season. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported them in Georgetown,"  Coach Laura Peter said.
FHS programmers compete, win at ACM contest
  Friendswood programmers gave up their long weekend to compete at the Trinity University's ACM Programming Contest in San Antonio last Saturday.
  The ACM programming contest consists of very tough collegiate style programming problems, according to FHS sponsor Annette Walter. The top programming teams from all over the State were represented.
  Chris Cotter, Andrew Wiley and Ben Braun placed second solving seven problems out of 10. Southlake Carroll solved one more than FHS did and placed first.
  The team of Adam Coleman, Kevin Correll and Winston Wu placed seventh by solving six problems.
  The team of Noah Kessler, Joe Rogers and Ryan Ham placed ninth and solved six problems as well, but did not complete the problems as quickly as the other Friendswood team did, according to Walter.
FHS Track Boys, Girls do well at meet on campus 
  Three FHS Boys Track Team members placed in the top 3 at the district meet held at FHS recently and will be advancing to Regionals.
  Austin Slone placed first in the triple jump and second place in the long jump. Brandon Swidler received first place in the 3200 meter run; James Gregory was awarded second place in the 3200 meter run; Trevor Reed received second place in discus; and James VanMatre was awarded second place in pole vault.

FHS' One Act Play advances to Regionals
  Great Expectations, Friendswood High School University Interscholastic League (UIL) One Act Play, advanced to the Regional meet, April 9. 
  The students will perform at the Region III UIL Regional Meet April 23 at Atascocita High School.  FHS will perform fourth which is approximately 6:30 pm, according to Theatre teacher and director Kathy Powdrell.
