Brandon Swindler also qualified for the state meet in the 3200 meters by placing 2nd and breaking a 25 year-old school record. He also bettered the Regional Meet record but was edged out by 0.3 seconds.  Brandon also finished 4th in the 1600 meters.

WS GrantsGrants awarded Windsong teachers
Windsong was visited by the  Education Foundation's "Prize Patrol" recently, the purpose of the visit was to award grants that had been proposed by the teachers.  Fourth grade Math teacher, Paula Martin was awarded a $3,012 grant for a new COW (computer on wheels) that will be shared between the 4th and 5th grade math teachers.  Fariba Karjooy, 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher was awarded a grant in the amount of $3,012.  The purpose of this grant was also for a COW that will be utilized by all teachers for the entire Windsong student body.  Mrs. Karjooy states that the information given to students using the COW media is more detailed, interesting, active and specific than teacher-led lessons.  Also based on our campus goals, another COW will add to the number of technology instruments to help meet the growing demand by all teachers.  All in all Windsong was the recipient of $7,579.00 in grants.
