 Kayla Cox, Haley Holtje, and Ariana Randal, 8th graders in the Friendswood JH Chamber Choir, were selected from over 1000 applicants. All applicants were required to perform "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" in a designated key, and send a CD of their performance to the Texas Choral Directors' Association, where a panel judged all the submitted performances and selected the 200 most outstanding singers. The participants will attend the Texas Choral Directors' Association Convention at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, where they will rehearse and perform a concert on July 31, 2009.
