News: Rickert speaks to FEF
posted: June 14, 2009

Former TSPRA member and retired Communications and Foundation Director Beth Rickert was the “cheerleader” chosen to get Friendswood ISD Education Foundation’s directors fired up for their tenth anniversary year.

Rickert was the opening act for their recent Strategic Planning Workshop in June.

It Takes Passion was the theme and Rickert encouraged and defined how she believes that everyone has the responsibility of getting the children or the community raised and educated.  To believe this passionately will take a foundation into the stellar, successful level it wants to achieve annually.

“Beth was just was needed to begin a day of planning for the new year and evaluating events and programs we had completed,” FISD Superintendent and EF Secretary Trish Hanks said.

Rickert spoke from the heart to the FISD EF directors and shared experiences from her work in La Porte ISD.

Rickert worked 20 years in LPISD as the spokesperson for the district as Director, then Executive Director of Communications and Public Information Officer. For 13 years, Rickert was also the Executive Director  of the La Porte Education Foundation.

“We were honored to have her and learned much from her experiences,” FISD Executive Director and TSPRA member Laura Riveron said.
