The Friendswood High School Wind Ensemble is competing this summer in the Texas Music Educators AAAA Honor Band competition.

The group won the state title in 2005 and due to the rules, have had to wait four years to try again.

At the recent competition, the band received all of the first place votes, earning the Region 17 Honor Band and Area F Honor band, being named 1st place unanmiously.

Because of this, their CD advances to the state contest, which will take place at the Texas Bandmasters Convention on Sunday, July 26, in San Antonio.

“Our kids worked from January through May 21 to produce this CD. I am very proud of their efforts!” FHS Band Director Greg Dick said
