Three track members from Friendswood High School advanced and competed at State competition held in Austin recently.

Brandon Swindler, Austin Slone and Cheryl Bueche represented FISD at the meet.

Swindler competed in the 3200 meters event and placed second.

Slone competed in two State events. In the long jump, Slone finished in sixth place. Slone finished fourth in the triple jump.

In girls track, Bueche placed fifth in the girls high jump.

The three will be honored for their efforts and success at the regular July meeting of the FISD School Board planned for July 14 at 6:30 pm in the Board room of the Administration building at 302 Laurel.

“This ends our long, weird, extremely successful 2009 track season,” Coach Steve Haffelder said.
