News: Career Technology students honored by teachers

Career Technology students were honored by their teachers at Friendswood High School recently at Joe’s Banquet Center in Alvin. Outstanding students in all Career Tech departments were recognized and students picked up plaques to give to their employees for those taking work programs.

Career Tech Counselor Ann Mulder coordinated the event. Retiree Conny Moran was recognized and honored at the event.

The following teachers were involved in the recognition of students:  Jane Pearce in Accounting and Business Computer Information Systems; Kara Buster in Administrative Procedures and Marketing Dynamics; Trevor Reifel in Agricultural Science; Annette Walter in Computer Science; Karmen Genzer in Health Science Technology; Kathy Kahn in Family Consumer Science; Matt Blackwell in Keyboarding; Amber Smith in Manufacturing; Meredith Wise and Al Taglione in Media Technology; Lisa Sargent in Multimedia; Conny Moran in Advanced BCIS; Rob Wise in Engineering and Terry Zimmerman in Engineering.

In Accounting, Outstanding students include Karen Klumpyan, Sarah Heintz, Lauren Gilbert  and MacKenzie Klemer.  Outstanding students in Business Computer Information Systems were Danielle Wilson and Danielle Hemphill.

In Business Computer Information Systems II, Victoria Stanley, Megan Carpenter, Marley Holt, Collin Thurman, and Melissa Swatek were honored.

In Business Computer Information Independent Study, Chris Walter was named Outstanding. Brandon Goddard and Kyle Wiley were outstanding in Computer Science I and Adam Coleman was Outstanding in Computer Science II with Andrew Wiley outstanding in Computer Science III.

Karen Barcenes was named Outstanding in Keyboarding with Carly Dillon and Brittney Crawford Outstanding in Family and Consumer Science. Jake Riley and Sydney Hale were named Outstanding in Agricultural Science. 

In Health Science, Outstanding Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) was Alanna White with Outstanding EMT student Emily Keller.  Outstanding Act of Bravery was awarded to Taylor Dixon and Raynee DuPriest. Outstanding Medical Science students were Diana Kirov, Kelsi Acosta, Kelly J. Smith and Diandra White.

In Media Technology, Blake Dewitt and Charles Easterly were named Outstanding. In Manufacturing Systems, Christopher Rountree was named Outstanding.

Tyler Bender and Brandon Swindler were named Outstanding in Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Lindsay Crenek and Chelsea Rouen were named outstanding in Administrative Procedures. Alexandria Prybil was named Outstanding in Marketing Education and Robert Smith was Outstanding in Personal Banking and Finance.

Michelle Dupont and Duncan Price were named Outstanding in Engineering Design and Development. Michelle Dupont, Duncan Price and Jan Doane were named Outstanding in Civil Engineering and Architecture.

In Introduction to Engineering Design, Daniel Modesett, Brent Walker and Timothy Johnson  were named Outstanding.  Katherine Wankowski, Blake Moffat, and Ben Cuadra were named Outstanding. Paige King, Kathryn Legler, Ezequiel Briceno and Heather Bleuer were named Outstanding in Multimedia.

In Engineering, Matt Jones, Jennifer Eubanks, Logan Millsaps, Nicholas Kemp, Zach Reinert and Alex Wright were named Outstanding.

The welcome was given by student Carly Dillon with the invocation given by student Ben Cuadra.
