Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a nationally accredited engineering program for high school students. These elective classes introduce students to various fields within engineering and teach precepts core to the study of engineering in college. They give our students an edge in a competitive field. PLTW classes offered at FHS include: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Engineering Design and Development. Friendswood ISD offers Career and Technical Education program in Career Clusters: AGRICULTURE, FOOD & NATURAL RESOURCES / ARTS, AUDIO/VISUAL TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATIONS / BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION / FINANCE / HEALTH SCIENCE / HOSPITALITY / HUMAN SERVICES / INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY / MARKETING / SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATHEMATICS. Admission to these programs is based on interest and aptitude, age appropriateness, and class space availability. Please note the recommended prerequisties in making schedule selections. The recommendations for coherent sequence exist to better serve students' curricular needs. All students are encouraged to follow the recommended or distringuished achievement graduation plans. Questions regarding any of the recommendation can be answered either by the instructors of the courses, or by Ann Mulder, Career & Technical Director.
