ADMISSIONS & INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS

TRANSFER REQUESTS
The Board delegates to the Superintendent the authority to accept or reject any transfer requests, provided that such action is without regard to race, religion, color, sex, disability, or national origin.

Transfer students may only be accepted into the District if approved by the Superintendent in accordance with the following guidelines. The Superintendent shall review each case individually and may consider the student's discipline record, attendance record, class size, and campus enrollment.

1. Resident students who become nonresidents during the course of a semester may be permitted to continue tuition-free attendance for up to the remainder of the semester in which they become nonresidents.
2. Resident senior students who become nonresidents during the course of a semester may be permitted to continue tuition-free attendance for the remainder of the year in which they become nonresidents.
3. Resident junior students who become nonresident students prior to their senior year may continue enrollment in the District to complete their senior year upon payment of tuition and upon the approval of the principal and Superintendent.
4. Nonresident students whose parents or guardians have a house under construction or have a contract for purchase of a house with a loan approved within District boundaries may be accepted as transfer students.
5. Nonresident students whose parents or guardians are in the process of leasing a residence within District boundaries may be accepted as transfer students for up to 30 calendar days. If at the end of 30 days residence has not been established, the student shall be required to withdraw.
6. Children of nonresident full-time District employees may be accepted as transfer students tuition-free. Full-time employees are defined as employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, excluding overtime or supplemental duties.

TUITION
The Board shall determine annually and within statutory limits the amount of tuition, if any, to be charged.

Nonresident students whose parents or guardians have a house under construction or have a contract to purchase a house with a loan approved within District boundaries may attend subject to the following conditions. At the time of enrollment, parents or guardians must provide to the District payment of $200 per month for each student enrolled, commencing the first day of enrollment and ending upon the proposed closing date of the new house. If the home is completed prior to the conclusion of the semester, the payment will be returned in full to the parents or guardians. If closing takes place after the conclusion of a given semester, the payments for that semester will be retained by the District as tuition.
Enrollment dates on or before the 15th day of the month shall necessitate full payment for that month. Enrollment that occurs after the 15th day of the month shall have charges begin the first day of the following month. Contracts ending after the 15th day shall result in full tuition charged for the month.

Parents or guardians must submit a copy of the contract to purchase a house which states a proposed closing date and is signed by builder/seller and buyer of the house. The District shall refund the tuition deposit, without interest, when the parents or guardians submit a Certificate of Occupancy or other appropriate document confirming occupancy, delivered on or before the conclusion of the semester. If occupancy of the house is not established within that period, the tuition payment shall be nonrefundable, and shall be retained as tuition duly owed the District.

RESIDENCY
For the purposes of this policy, residency shall be defined as the physical residence at which the student actually lives, keeps his or her personal possessions, sleeps, and intends to remain. For the purposes of this policy, a student can have only one residence.

WAIVERS
The Board may waive tuition for a student upon written application by the student or parent or guardian, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.

NONPAYMENT
The District may initiate withdrawal of students whose tuition payments are delinquent.

APPEALS
Any appeals shall be made in accordance with FNG(LOCAL) and GF(LOCAL), as appropriate.
