2008 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP): Under the accountability provisions in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, all public school campuses, school districts, and the state are evaluated for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Districts, campuses, and the state are required to meet AYP criteria on three measures: Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, and either Graduation Rate (for high schools and districts) or Attendance Rate (for elementary and middle/junior high schools). The following Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report indicates that students in Friendswood continue to lead the State in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

We take great pride in our accomplishments and recognize the effort and support of our students, staff, parents, and community.
 
The philosophy of Friendswood ISD is reflected in the mission statement and goals developed cooperatively by administrators, teachers, board members, and parents. Striving for excellence in whatever endeavor a students attempts is the overriding theme for the District. One way to measure our success is through the attached AEIS report.
