BOARD OF TRUSTEES REPORT The Board of Trustees is the educational policy-making body for Texas public school districts. To effectively meet the challengesof public education, school boards and superintendents must function together as a leadership team. Each leadership team must annually assess its development needs as a corporate body and individually to gain an understanding of the vision, structure, accountability and advocacy needed to provide educational programs and services that ensure the equity and excellence in performance of all students.  An online Board Book is new and in place for FISD providing a basis for better communication with the public. The new system, BoardDocs, replaces the former method of using paper-meeting documents. Electronic distribution not only saves time and resources, it also provides online public access to information. Through the web site, the public can view the agenda and the supporting documents prior to each meeting. All documents associated with the meeting are automatically archived and can be accessed by meeting date or by using the search feature. After the meeting, individuals can review the meeting minutes to see voting results and actions taken.
