Why Teach in FISD?

About Our Staff
Friendswood ISD takes pride in their teachers who make their careers here. Teachers and support staff are encouraged to further their skills and knowledge through advanced degrees and professional workshops, seminars and conferences. The District staff numbers more than 650, including teachers, support staff such as counselors, nurses, librarians and diagnosticians, paraprofessional staff, bus drivers, maintenance, and food service.

A major goal of the District is to assist in the development of well-rounded, productive citizens with a broad range of interests, abilities, and experiences. Student performance is an important measure of a student's success. Friendswood schools consistently perform at the highest levels on state tests and nationally standardized tests.
 
In the state's accountability rating system, Friendswood ISD has earned a Recognized rating.
 
The District's enrollment is approximately 5818 students. The ethnic distribution in the District is 90.6% white, 4.9% Hispanic, 1.3% African American, and 3.2% other. Economically disadvantaged students are 4% of the total enrollment. Approximately 0.3% of students have limited proficiency in the English language. Approximately 94.5% of seniors plan to pursue higher education. The graduation rate is 97.4%.
